Oleksandr Petrov

Biography

Oleksandr Petrov (b. 1982, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian trumpet player, teacher, arranger and composer.

In 2006, Petrov graduated from the Donetsk Musical Academy, and since then has performed with the Dnepropetrovsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Zaporozhya Academic Symphony Orchestra, and the Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.

Since 2004, Petrov has been a soloist with the Dnepropetrovsk Philharmonic Orchestra, where he continues in 2022. While a member of this orchestra, he toured Europe, and in 2019 played on some of Europe's most well-known stages. In 2019 he was again invited to perform with the Dnepro Opera Orchestra and is now [2022] actively working as a musician in both the opera theater and symphony orchestra.

For several years, Petrov taught trumpet and chamber ensemble at the Dnepropetrovsk Musical Academy. Under his leadership, the bras quintet Pafos Brass was crated. For this group he has made over 60 arrangements of classical works, works by Ukrainian composers, and popular music.
