Program Notes

Philip Egner used excerpts from the following original and traditional military songs when he wrote this march in 1928.: On, Brave Old Army Team, Army, Blue, Alma Mater, The Corps, Recall, West Point Song, Taps, Reveille, and Dashing White Sergeant. The result is a blend of sentiment, musicianship and patriotism which has a near-universal appeal.
