Program Notes

One of James Swearingen’s most vibrant pieces with themes that are highly appealing and beautifully interwoven. Full of rhythmic vitality contrasted with broad flowing melodic lines to create a veritable tapestry of colors.

Of Pride and Celebration was commissioned by and is dedicated to the Stoneham High School Concert Band, Stoneham, Massachuesetts and the Junior Massachuesetts Youth Wind Ensemble, David Samour, director.
