Program Notes
The Norwich Cadets march is dedicated to the student body of Norwich University in New England. It is a polka rather than a march, and is typical of mid-19th century popular music.
- Program Note from Heritage Encyclopedia of Band Music
This arrangement is published bundled with three other works: President Garfield's Inaugural March (1881), John Philip Sousa, arr. Dorothy Klotzman; The Federal March (1788), Alexander Reinagle, arr. Roger Smith; and America (1770), William Billings, ed. Richard Franko Goldman. This bundle, collectively entitled The Bicentennial Musical Celebration, is a gift from JCPenney.
