Biography
Nicholas D. DeRubertis (1884 – 22 May 1957, Kansas City, Mo.) was an American composer and conductor.
For 20 years (1937-1957), DeRubertis led his own professional band in Kansas City, Missouri. He was founder of the Kansas City Civic Orchestra and Municipal Band. He taught at the University of Kansas City and also at Saint Mary’s College in Leavenworth, Kansas.
For the most part, his works were composed or arranged for school bands. DeRubertis was elected to the American Bandmasters Association in 1948.
