Program Notes

Written to depict the scenic beauty of a New England village, this overture is sure to develop your band's musicality. The opening tuneful flute melody is answered by the band in a lush, hymn-like chorale. An energetic section follows which gives way to a lively Renaissance-like dance style, complete with optional recorder parts and hand claps. It's a smorgasbord of styles linked by a charming theme.
