Michael Djupstrom
Biography
Michael Djupstrom (b. 1980, St. Paul, Minn.) is an American composer and pianist.
Mr. Djupstrom completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in composition at the University of Michigan. His composition teachers include Bright Sheng and Betsy Jolas.
His music has garnered many awards including the Lotte Lehman Prize, Morton Gould Young Composer Award, Walter Beeler Composition Prize and the ASCAP/CBDNA Frederick Fennell Prize. An accomplished pianist, Djupstrom performs with the Phoenix Trio.
