Program Notes

Metallic Figures: Concerto for Tuba was commissioned by Dr. Jeremy Lewis, Associate Professor of Tuba/Percussion at Texas A&M University.

This rhythmically driven three-movement work is inspired by the music of two of Dr. Lewis's favorite bands, Metallica and Nine Inch Nails. Composed over a span of a year's time, the piano reduction as started in summer 2019 and finished in December 2019, with the wind band orchestration being composed after and finish in August of 2020. The work was composed and dedicated to Dr. Lewis, conductor Don Lefevre, and the West Texas A&M University Symphonic Band.
