Program Notes

The strong, imposing themes of this work evoke legendary tales of heroes long gone. Mike Story is a master at writing for band at the easy level, and here he lets the forceful character of this work come alive with tonal colors of that bygone era, and it is perfectly balanced with lyric material. A striking tutti fanfare builds to a fugue-like section initiated by the woodwinds and draws to a dynamic musical conclusion.
