Program Notes

The "city of pure waters," Mayagüez is located in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico and is my birthplace.

This composition is set for a five-part flexible ensemble and is a short soundtrack to my childhood. As an adventurous and daring child, I frequently took long walks through the rain forest -- often getting lost. With room for improvisation, this rhythmic and energetic fusion of musical styles will take you on a short but fun journey through some of my adventures!
