Matthew Howell
Biography
Matthew Howell (b. 1 March 1999, Morris, Okla.) is an American composer and student.
Howell attended Morris Public Schools through his youth, participating in as many ensembles as his directors would allow him. After discovering a passion for music fairly young, Matthew decided to study music and create sounds just as compelling as those that drew him into music. Matthew attends [2021] Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, where he studies saxophone and composition, a student of Dr. Igor Karaca, Dr. Johnny Salinas, and Dr. Jeffery Loeffert.
After years of involvement in wind bands and music lessons, Matthew started formally composing in 2019. Matthew currently focuses on chamber wind music, writing for various small ensembles of both homogenous and mixed instrumentations.
