Program Notes

"Marche Slava" is a somewhat Bernsteinesque piece composed in the standard march form.

One of my goals is to help reinvent the concert march, as marches have been such a large part of the wind band tradition: This piece was the first composition in my series of concert marches, and it contains several quotes and references, including a beginning snare drum etude and multiple parts of "Stars and Stripes Forever". -Program Note by composer
