Program Notes

Malagueña was originally the sixth movement of Lecuona’s suite, Andalucia. That unmistakable Nestico touch gives this Latin standard a fresh new sound. Sammy's brilliant brass, sparkling woodwinds, and driving Latin rhythms create a concert piece that's truly exciting.

- Program Note adapted from publisher and University of North Texas Symphonic Band concert program, 23 April 2017
