Program Notes

Machine Age is unique and interesting for all players with its mix of rhythmic activity and memorable melodic lines. Chris Bernotas achieves a machinery effect throughout by using a variety of syncopated rhythms and staccato articulations. Every instrument carries the melody at some point in the piece, giving young players the opportunity to shine beyond their traditional role in the band.
