Program Notes
The spirit of this piece is reflective of the title as the music is both shimmering and exuberant. A bold rhythmic opening statement from the ensemble introduces the energetic theme and active background, bright, steady and glittering. After slowing for a middle section that is warmer in character, the original material returns, shining and bright, for the rousing conclusion.
