Program Notes

The Last Battle is a musical depiction of the final siege of the Civil War at Fort Blakely and Spanish Fort, Alabama. Composed for the concert band, the piece employs the use of dissonant harmonies and aleatoric (random) compositional techniques, in addition to conventional melodic and harmonic content.
