This outstanding concert piece depicts the story of runaway slaves making their way north via the Underground Railroad using “ a lantern in the window” as their guide to safe houses along the way.

A Lantern in the Window was commissioned by the Peter J. Palombi School Bands, Lake Villa, Illinois, Matthew A. Kastor, director.
