Kiyohiro Kawai

Biography

Kiyohiro Kawai (b. 1991, Japan) is a Japanese composer.

He studied composition at Osaka College of Music with Chang Su Koh and Takanobu Nagata. When he graduated there, he was selected in the Excellent Academic Award by the college.

He won the 32nd ISCM Award for Composers with a piece for string quartet, the 1st prize for the All Japan Band Composition Competition and the 2016 KMMA Composition Award. He was also selected in the 8th JFC Composition Competition Final Stage and the 3rd Senzoku Contemporary Composition Competition Division B Final Stage.

Mr. Kawai is a member of Kansai Modern Music Association (KMMA).
