Biography

Kees Olthuis (28 November 1940 Amsterdam) is a Dutch composer and bassoonist.

Olthuis studied bassoon and piano at the Amsterdamse Conservatorium. His first composition is from 1962 for the graduation of a collegue student. After his study he started his career as bassoonist in the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. From 1972 he is active with the Netherlands Wind Ensemble as composer and Bassoonist,
