Program Notes

This work depicts the supernatural being associated with ancestral spirits, the kachina, from Pueblo Indian culture. Here is a great musical and multicultural teaching piece with intriguing percussion and a plaintive chant that builds to a spirit dance celebrating the kachina's link between gods and mortals.
