Jesus Santandreu
Biography
Jesús Santandreu (b. 1970, Spain) is a Spanish jazz artist, composer and conductor.
In 2000 he graduated in jazz (magna cum laude) from Berklee College of Music, Boston, Massachusetts, and in 2014 he was awarded a Master of Arts degree, symphonic conducting, from Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
As a jazz artist, Santandreu specializes in different ensembles, such as chamber music, big band, symphony orchestra and wind orchestra. His symphonic works have had premieres and performances in Brazil, the USA, Portugal, Germany, Colombia, China, Taiwan, and Spain. He has teaching experience in several European, North American, Asian, and Latin American universities.
He currently [2022] resides in Valencia, where is professor of improvisation at Sedajazz and serves as professor of saxophone and arranging at Conservatorio Superior Joaquín Rodrigo in Valencia, and is the director of the CSMV’s Big Band.
