Program Notes

Drawing from some of the lesser-known material from Bizet's famous opera, this arrangement closely portrays the original with its beautiful, lyrical melodies and lush harmonies. Solos are written for flute, oboe, and clarinet. The piece also provides some optional notes to more accurately resemble the original material.

- Program Note from publisher

The Intermezzo, the interlude before Act III of Bizet's opera Carmen, appears in the Carmen Suite No. I. The Carmen suites are two suites of orchestral music drawn from the music of the opera and compiled posthumously by Bizet's friend Ernest Guiraud.
