Program Notes

This sparkling concert overture commemorates the 30th anniversary of this outstanding community band. An opening majestic fanfare leads to a buoyant main theme in 12/8 time. A lyrical contrasting section is as rich in melodic content as is it is passion. The piece, being in a modified rondo form ,restates a variation of the main theme before returning to the opening fanfare and a rousing conclusion.
