Program Notes

Colorful music straight from the Romantic period, this concert work is programmatic and describes the hustle and bustle of a crowded open market place and its ever-changing scenes of camel trains, jugglers, arrival of a princess, beggars, and of course a snake charmer. It’s one of the very early works for concert band in this style that has endured.
