Program Notes

Losing a loved one is never easy, and such was the case when I lost my parents and younger brother. Hymn to Loved Ones Lost is a collage of feelings and emotions that we might deal with after losing someone near and dear to our hearts. Of all the emotions involved in these life changing events, there is always a sense of loss and sadness, but there are often frustrations and anger as well. In this piece, I try to depict the almost-roller-coaster ride of emotions that I personally experienced after losing my parents and my brother. Upon hearing the piece, my hope is that audiences will get a chance to once again remember their own "loved ones lost."
