Program Notes

This humoresque was founded upon George Gershwin and Irving Caesar's song from the Broadway show Sinbad. Liberally sprinkled with unusual sound effect, it includes variation on the principal theme as well as Hail, Hail, the Gang's All Here, Listen to the Mocking Bird, Dixie, and Old Folks at Home. It was originally written in 1920, but Sousa revised it in 1928, using Lassus Trombone for the finale.
