Program Notes

A sense of nostalgia permeates this bittersweet, lyrical work. Inspired by a poem by Garrison Keillor entitled Leaving Home, the music captures the sense of longing to be a part of a community, no matter how far away life takes you. Consider having the text read during your performance, adding to the audience's appreciation of the composition. This is a fine, expressive selection you can be proud to program.
