Program Notes

This beloved Texas anthem was written for the TV documentary Lyndon Johnson's Texas and later recorded by the Boston Pops on their album The Pops Goes West. But it is most fondly remembered as the original theme from Bob Phillips' TV travelogue Texas Country Reporter.

David Lovrien's arrangement captures the original majesty while adding quotes from The Yellow Rose of Texas in this exciting setting for concert band.
