Program Notes

The Hickory Ridge Band Boosters commissioned North Carolina composer and educator Joseph Earp to write a piece in honor of the wind ensemble's performance tour of China. The result was Hickory Ridge Holiday. The beginning of the piece represents the excitement of establishing a new band program, while the rest of the piece depicts the accomplishments and challenges the students and staff have faced during the first ten years of the school. Simply put, this composition is a celebration!
