Program Notes

Heroes in the Shadows is dedicated to all frontline responders of COVID-19 outbreak of 2020.

Just over seven minutes long, the work is one continuous piece with three distinct sections:

1. Lying in Wait. Hustle and bustle, then the shutdown crashes in on everyone.

2. Alone Together. Wide chords reflect social isolation and loneliness.

3. Let There Be Light. Frontline responders provide hope; the repetitive motifs represent the unwavering care and commitment they give, day after day after day.
