Program Notes

This delightful medley includes settings of three movements from three of the legendary composer's most appreciated works. The lively opening section is a setting of Intermezzo from First Suite in E-flat that includes initial melodic responsibilities for horn and tenor saxophone. The contrasting middle section, with expressive melodic material in upper woodwinds and trumpets, is drawn from Second Suite in F – Song Without Words: I'll Love My love. The stately closing section, March from A Moorside Suite, brings the arrangement to a majestic conclusion.
