Program Notes
The polonaise also originated in the [eighteen] twenties. This interesting, powerful, brilliant work with its two cantabile trios was composed for the older conical flute with several keys, an apotheosis on this instrument's basic key of D Major. This opus presents a dazzling but difficult challenge to the soloist on the Böhm flute.
