Program Notes

George by Fred is a medley of Gershwin tunes introduced by Fred Astaire; the first of the three songs is Fascinating Rhythm, from the 1924 Broadway musical Lady Be Good, and the final two are Shall we Dance and Slap that Bass, from the 1937 film Shall We Dance, which was the seventh of the ten Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers musical comedy films.
