Program Notes

As implied by the title, this composition is an exciting ride at the speed of a horse in full stride. Using a wide range of instrumental colors and intense rhythms throughout, the journey is smooth despite a few hints of impending peril along the way.

Galop was written on commission for the Hopkins (Minn.) High School Wind Ensemble. It received its premiere under the baton of William Bell.
