Program Notes

Written in response to a call for works during the Covid19 pandemic, this work is a combination of a galop -- a fast, motivic-based work in a duple meter -- and a scherzo -- a fast work (or section of a work) in triple meter, often combining motivic and slightly longer ideas. The entire piece is supposed to be fun and energetic, keep the listener engaged, challenge the players, and should work with any combination of four instruments.
