Biography

Franklin Haspiel (b. 8 May 1927, St. Louis, Mo.) is an American composer.

Mr. Haspiel is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., with an AB degree and a Master of Arts degree in music education and composition. He was band director in the Pattonville School District in St. Louis County for 33 years, until 1992.

Since his retirement, Haspiel has devoted his time to composition. In addition to his band works, he has written music for string orchestra, solo instruments, and small ensembles.
