Program Notes

First performed at the Paris Opera in June 1910, this piece made Stravinsky famous, and is considered one of his greatest works. In 3/4 time, the arrangement provides a wonderful opportunity to introduce or reinforce triple meter, while introducing young musicians to this famous classical work. The grandiose finale is sure to be met with grandiose applause.
