Program Notes

Featuring exciting rhythms and modern harmonies, Fearless is a direct and intense work meant to excite and engage both players and audience members. The recurring ostinato rhythm found throughout the piece is sometimes straightforwardly powerful and percussive, while at other times more nuanced, featuring shifting harmonies and opportunities for phrasing and musicality. The contrasting middle section provides a brief respite from its stormy surroundings, while never straying too far from the themes used throughout.
