Program Notes
This exciting fanfare was written to celebrate the professional accomplishments of a former student. The title refers to the intensity and tenacious vigor that this individual now brings to music education. The inspiration for the composition's creation reflects the fact that the older teachers get, the more they stop advancing their own careers to focus on celebrating the work of their students. The piece includes technical challenges for each instrument and appealing contrasts of dynamics and texture.
- Program Note from The Instrumentalist
It was written to celebrate the inaugural year as director of bands at the University of Texas-El Paso of my former student and dear friend, Bradley Genevro.
