Program Notes

This exciting piece is written in the style of the Spanish flamenco, but the composition is defined as a fandango, an archaic folkloric form usually regarded as one of the oldest Spanish dances. The piece features bold melodic material, effective contrasts of articulation, dynamics, and texture, and accessible, engaging lines of similar difficulty for each section.
