Program Notes
This creative work takes the 13th century plainchant melody Divinum Mysterium, commonly known as "Of The Father’s Love Begotten," and transforms it into a joyous anthem. The piece begins with a jubilant fanfare featuring melodic and rhythmic material that is evident throughout the composition. A softer section with flowing eighth-note passage and changing meters builds in intensity to a dramatic full ensemble statement. A quiet transitional passage then leads to the rhythmically intense final section, bringing the work to a powerful conclusion.
