Program Notes
The elegant beauty of this David Shaffer ballad provides a nice change of pace for any occasion. Simple but plaintive melodic lines and lush harmonies create a musical mood that makes Evening Prayer worthy of performance by bands at many different levels.
Evening Prayer is dedicated to the middle school band directors in the state of Georgia who provide the initial instruction to young students in instrumental music.
