Program Notes

The dignified Navy Hymn is found here in a rich chorale setting for bands at the easy level that builds from a subdued opening to a grand conclusion. This reverent treatment is unusually moving and effectively conveys the message of comfort and hope associated with the beloved tune.

- Program Note from publisher

Commissioned by Phil Baker and his family of Grand Rapids, Michigan, to honor their grandmother, Grace Jennings Heinsohn, a descendant of members of the voyage of the Mayflower.
