Ermano Picchi
Biography
Ermano Picchi (7 June 1811, Impruneta (Province of Florence ) - 18 april 1856, Florence) was an Italian composer.
Very little is known of Picchi's life. His best known piece is the euphonium solo Fantasie Originale, which still exists in the repertoire of concert and brass bands. The success of the work is largely due to the editing of Simone Mantia, euphonium soloist with the John Philip Sousa Band. Every leading euphonium soloist presents this work at a concert or on CD / DVD.
