Program Notes

Based on a Judeo-Spanish folk tune, this Medieval-sounding work is an excellent way to showcase the lyrical playing of winds, intertwined with energizing rhythms in the percussion. Robert Sheldon does an excellent job of providing an updated setting of this haunting melody while maintaining much of the color and exotic elements of the original.
