Program Notes
When I was in middle and high school band, I was constantly enamored with and overwhelmed by any older players that were incredible performers on their instrument. It wasn’t, though, until I had the opportunity to hear my first live professional soloist that I realized how incredible musicians could be! The desire to write music that could be performed by these ‘dynamos’ was significant in my development as a composer.
