Program Notes

The Emerald Island awaits you with this three-movement work of famous Irish folk songs. Brian Boru's March is heard in a somber manner, with drums and flutes taking the lead. The beautiful melody of The Minstrel Boy presents striking harmonizations in a mellow tone. The suite is concluded with a lively and bouncy rendition of the beloved tune The Irish Washerwoman.
