Program Notes

This 2013 work was composed by a master known as "father of concert band pops" in hopes of recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake (March 2011). This was commissioned as one of test pieces for All-Japan Band Competition (the sixth test piece by the composer). The bright and light big-band-like sound that was unlikely to be 89-years old became a hot topic.
