Program Notes
A "dream catcher" is an American Indian hoop. In Indian folklore, when dream catchers are suspended over the body of someone sleeping, they catch the bad dreams and let the good ones through. This title is full of percussive sound effects and instruments that all players employ.
The Dream Catcher was commissioned by and is dedicated to the Renbrook School Concert Band, West Hartford, Connecticut, Gary L. Partridge, conductor.
