Biography
Donald Crockett (b. 18 February 1951, Pasadena, California) is an American composer.
Crockett attended the University of Southern California and the University of California at Santa Barbera. His composition teachers included Peter Racine Fricker, Robert Linn, and Halsey Stevens. He is currently a professor of composition at the University of Southern California (1981-) and has held the position of composer-in-residence with both the Pasadena Chamber Orchestra (1984-86) and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (1991-97). Crockett has also received commissions from the Charlotte Symphony, the Hilliard Ensemble, the Kronos Quartet, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
